Worship Wednesdays

When quarantine first started, the church wanted to push for more social media content and Worship Wednesdays were born.

We would release one video a week which had a worship song and a devotional for that song. Some weeks it was just Robin and his acoustic, but other weeks we found time to track with a few other praise team members.

These recordings needed to come from a place of authenticity so I tried to be very minimal with my miking. For sessions with just Robin and his acoustic, I used an MXL ribbon mic on his guitar and a Shure hyper-cardioid dynamic mic for the vocals. Aiming the null point of the ribbon mic at his mouth, I was able to effectively isolate acoustic guitar from the vocals. For the larger praise team I used mainly direct inputs as we were tracking through the FOH console usually used for Sunday morning
